Sanchez lost his spleen in a serious accident two years ago |
King's Lynn Stars have signed Argentina international rider Emiliano Sanchez for their 2009 team. The 31-year-old former Hull Vikings number one takes the number four slot on a 5.58 average. Sanchez said: "It was very sad that I didn't have a team place for 2009, that is why I am so happy King's Lynn have given me this opportunity. "I now feel I am over my bad injury and had a good winter racing back in Argentina," He added. Sanchez's career has faltered since a serious injury in 2007 in Argentina but King's Lynn manager Rob Lyon is confident he can rediscover the form which saw him reach a 8.15 average during his time with Hull. "Emiliano has a good pedigree and is a great all round rider who will score well at away tracks. "In all honesty I can't believe he wasn't snapped up by another club," he said. Sanchez takes the place of Australian John Oliver, who has chosen not to rejoin the Stars as his partner is expecting their first child this spring.
