The King's Lynn Stars begin their 2009 speedway season on Wednesday, 1 April when Rye House visit the Norfolk Arena in the Premier Trophy.

The Stars are expecting a successful season after their riders dominated the Australian national under-21 final.

Darcy Ward, 16, won the event ahead of King's Lynn team-mate Kozza Smith, in a first for the clubs' riders.

The Stars will host a press night at the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday, 18 March, allowing fans to meet the team.

Their first Premier League meeting of the new campaign is at Glasgow on Sunday, 24 May, with Redcar the visitors to King's Lynn the following Wednesday.

Darcy is only 16 years old, he has the world at his feet

Buster Chapman

Stars promoter Buster Chapman said they are perfectly poised after his young Australians performed so well in their national finals.

"This is simply amazing, never has the club had two riders achieve so much individually at the same time," said Chapman.

"I am proud of them both and to think Darcy is only 16 years old then you can excuse me in thinking, he has the world at his feet."
