Daley delight at first-team debut

Norwich City striker Luke Daley says he was delighted to make his first-team debut with a substitute appearance against Burnley.

Coming off the bench after 78 minutes, the 19-year-old forward could do little to affect the result of the 1-1 Championship draw at Carrow Road.

"I only found out just before the game when I came in that I was on the bench," he told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"That was exciting enough. When I was told to warm up it felt really good."

The young striker also revealed that his inclusion in the team was such a surprise, he did not get the chance to tell any of his family he might be playing.

"I told my family I was in the squad when the list went up on Friday, but I had no indication I'd be on the bench, so I didn't get any calls out," he said.

Daley also maintains that despite their position in the bottom three of the Championship, they have enough quality to beat the drop.

"We've got a good team in there, I definitely believe we can do it, so we've just got to keep playing and taking the games as they come," he said.
