Laverty disappointment at Mallory

Michael Laverty is the reigning British Supersport champion

Michael Laverty had a disappointing day at Mallory Park, crashing in both races and salvaging just an 11th place.

Laverty was challenging at the front in race one before falling off and remounting but was forced to retire while leading the day's second race.

The Toomebridge Relentless TAS Suzuki rider had qualified in second position.

Ian Lowry was third in the Supersports, with BJ Toal seventh and Marty Nutt 10th while Nutt was fifth and Adrian Coates eighth in the Yamaha R1 Cup.

John Laverty was 10th and 14th in the Superbike races and Paul Jordan was fifth and ninth in the 125cc race.

Superbike race one was won by Shane Byrne from Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow while Michael Rutter won race two from Byrne and Crutchlow.
