Laverty secures two sixth places

Michael Laverty is the reigning British Supersport champion

Michael Laverty claimed two sixth places in Sunday's British Superbike championship rounds at Snetterton.

Leon Camier won race one with Marshall Neill 15th and John Laverty 16th and in race two, Shane Byrne took the win with Neill 13th and John Laverty 16th.

In the Superstock 1000, Alistair Seeley was third, Adrian Coates fourth and Neill fifth while Lee Johnston was second in the Superstock 600cc class.

Paul Jordan won the 125cc event and Ian Lowry was fifth in the Supersport race.

Jamie Hamilton was 10th and Nikki Coates 19th in the 600 Superstock while in the 125s, Nicole McAleer was 19th and William Dunlop failed to finish.

Castlerock's Marty Nutt was 10th and BJ Toal of Omagh 11th in the Supersport race which was won by top road racer Steve Plater.

Jack Kennedy was third in the R1 Cup, Nutt was close behind in fourth and Coates seventh.

Neill now lies third in the 1000 Superstock series, with Seeley close behind in fourth.

Johnston is third in the 600 Superstock standings while Jordan is tied for first place in the 125cc championship.

Lowry is fourth in the Supersport series which is led by Glen Richards.
