There was disappointment for the large group of Irish riders as the first round of the British Superbike series at Brands Hatch fell victim of snow. The meeting was called off because of heavy snow at the track on Sunday morning and has been rescheduled for the weekend of 10 and 11 May. Michael Laverty had qualified in 10th place for the feature Superbike races on board his Relentless TAS Suzuki. Shane Byrne set pole position while John Laverty was back in 17th place. In the 1000cc Superstock, Marshall Neill was third fastest, Adrian Coates fourth and Alistair Seeley 10th with Nicole McAleer 19th in the 125cc class. Ian Lowry was eighth quickest in the Supersport category, BJ Toal 14th and Marty Nutt 18th with Coates sixth and Nutt seventh in the Yamaha R1 Cup. Jamie Hamilton was seventh and Nikki Coates ninth in the 600cc Superstocks.
