Jonathan Rea was excluded from the Donington results |
Lisburn's Ian Lowry took advantage of Jonathan Rea's exclusion to win the British Supersport round at Donington and move into fourth in the series. Rea came home first with his HannSpree Ten Kate Honda team-mate Andrew Pitt second in a one-off ride but both were excluded for using the wrong fuel type. Michael Laverty was ninth in Superbike race one but retired in race two. Marshall Neill won the Superstock 1000cc event with Adrian Coates third and Alastair Seeley fourth. Neill lies second and Seeley fourth in the championship standings. Coates was third in both R1 Cup races and is now sixth in the series. Marty Nutt was 11th and 10th in the two R1 Cup races. Rea and Pitt were competing as part of their preparations for the World Supersport round at the same circuit later in the year and the team was aware of their indiscretion before the race started. Meanwhile Lee Johnston took a creditable second place in the Junior Superstock 600cc race, with Jamie Hamilton fourth, David Haire eighth and Jamie Coates failing to finish. Shane Byrne was a double winner in the feature Superbike events.
