Ballyclare's Jonathan Rea had qualified in sixth position

Jonathan Rea finished sixth in the third round of the World Supersport championship in Valencia on Sunday.

Rea had qualified in sixth position and lay fourth in the race early on, before dropping down to seventh position and then gaining a place late in the race.

Spaniard Joan Lascorz was the winner, with Fabien Foret second and Britain's Craig Jones third.

Rea had taken fifth place in the previous round in Phillip Island, after crashing out in the opener in Qatar.

Lascorz leads the championship, with Rea eighth in the standings.
