Laverty secures fourth at Oulton

Michael Laverty is the reigning British Supersport champion

Michael Laverty had seventh and fourth place finishes in Monday's British Superbike round at Oulton Park.

The Toomebridge rider's brother John came 20th and 13th while Ducati rider Shane Byrne won both races.

Ian Lowry was third in the Supersport class with BJ Toal sixth and Marty Nutt 20th. Nutt was sixth in the Yamaha R1 Cup in which Adrian Coates crashed.

Alastair Seeley finished fourth in the National 1000cc Superstock category while Marshall Neill was sixth.

Antrim rider Coates crashed while dicing for third in the National 1000cc Superstock race.

Michael Laverty had come home fifth in the second Superbike race but was moved up a place after Leon Haslam was excluded from the results.

The Toomebridge rider now lies sixth in the championship standings, ahead of Sunday's next round at Brands Hatch.

The National Superstock 600 race saw David Haire take sixth place, Jamie Hamilton eighth and Nikki Coates 10th.
