Northern Ireland riders produced fine points-scoring performances at the British Superbike round at Thruxton. Michael Laverty was 10th and fifth in the Superbike races and lies seventh in the standings while brother John was 12th and 11th and leads the Cup series. Marty Nutt was third and Adrian Coates fifth in the R1 Cup while Ian Lowry was fifth and Nutt seventh in Supersports. Jamie Hamilton took third in the National Superstock 600cc and Marshall Neill was fourth in the Superstocks. In the feature Superbike races, Irish rider Brian McCormack failed to finish race one but was 23rd in race two, in which top road racer Guy Martin was ninth. Shane Byrne took the flag in the first race and Honda rider Cal Crutchlow was triumphant in the second. HM Plant Honda rider Steve Brogan won the Supersport class, with Ian Hutchinson eighth, Rob Frost 11th and John McGuinness 16th. Omagh's BJ Toal, last year's R6 Cup winner, was 19th. Brogan also took the 1000cc Superstock honours, where Relentless TAS Suzuki's Cameron Donald took a highly creditable third place, Manx road racer Conor Cummins was sixth, Alistair Seeley seventh and Uel Duncan runner Gary Johnson eighth. In the 125cc class, Stuart Elwood was 13th and Nicole McAleer 22nd.
