Knight won two British titles as well as the EWC crown in 2010

Manx rider David Knight says he is full of confidence ahead of the opening round of the FIM Enduro World Championship in Spain.

The 32-year-old reigning E3 class world champion is looking to win his fourth outdoor world title.

"I feel great and I am really happy with the bike, so it's all systems go," said the KTM rider.

He added: "I really want number four this year, but you never know what's going to happen in this sport."

He added: "There are some top riders in my class this year, but I'm not worried about them.

"I will just do my own thing. Riders like Mika (Ahola) and Christophe (Nambotin) have plenty of experience but I am confident in my own ability."

The series will start in Spain before the riders head to Portugal.

Knight won the Enduro 3 World title with a round to spare in 2010 after starting the penultimate round with a 52-point advantage over his closest rival, Nambotin.

The Ballaugh rider has made a winning start to 2011 and currently leads both the British Sprint and British Enduro Championships .

He won his first World Championship in 2005 and defended it with a 100% record the following year.

In 2007, Knight left the WEC in search of a new challenge and despite multiple trans-atlantic flights and injury, he claimed his first GNCC series, the AMA Endurocross series and the FIM Indoor Enduro World Cup.

He went onto retain his title in 2008 with two rounds to spare.

In 2009, Knight had a short spell with BMW before spending the remainder of the season on a privately run Kawasaki, winning the British Enduro Championship.

Last year he returned to KTM for the World Enduro Championship, where he won his third World Championship for the Austrian manufacturer.
