Swindon have signed 19-year-old Polish rider Maciek Janowski as a replacement for Thomas H Jonasson. Jonasson is out for the rest of the season after getting a 28-day ban for missing the Robins' last meeting. Janowski is due to make his Swindon debut on Thursday night against Coventry at the Abbey Stadium. Robins team manager Ronnie Russell said: "Maciek is a very talented rider and we're looking forward to seeing him in action here in Britain." Janowski rides for the Poland Under-19 and Under-21 teams and in 2009 was part of the squad that won the Under-19 European team Championships. | I urge the Swindon fans to make Maciek feel very welcome. Russell told the Robins' website he is very happy to have secured the services of the Polish youngster. "I know that Leigh Adams (Swindon captain) has been impressed when he's seen Maciek ride in Poland and we're hopeful that this short stint in British speedway will lead on to greater things in 2011," he said. "I urge the Swindon fans to make Maciek feel very welcome. I'm sure he'll be feeling a little nervous before the action gets underway." Janowski will go straight in at the number two position. Jonasson was banned by the British Speedway Promoters' Association after failing to turn up to Swindon's last meeting at Ipswich. He missed a flight from Poland to the UK because of an issue with his passport.
