Swindon Robins' loss still hurts manager Ronnie Russell

Swindon Robins manager Ronnie Russell admits the recent loss to Peterborough is still painful as his side face three tough meetings in three days.

"I can't believe how much it's hurting," Russell told BBC Wiltshire.

"Especially because I've got no answer for it. I'm just grabbing silly stuff like we hadn't ridden for a long time."

The Elite League side travel to Poole Pirates on Wednesday, play host to them the following day and then face a trip to Lakeside on Friday.

Russell continued: "It's not usual that you get three in a row in this league but look at who it is.

"Very, very difficult - the whole lot's difficult and especially on the back of last week's horrendous result [against Peterborough]."

Swindon lost 49-47 to their play-off rivals at the Abbey Stadium last week.

"I reminded the riders after each heat that it was not an away meeting and we were actually at home," added Russell.

"We couldn't have made a worse start to the meeting. We eventually woke up but it was too late."
