Stars ready for extended summer

King's Lynn Stars boss Rob Lyon believes they can continue to fight campaigns on three fronts.

Lynn currently lead the Premier League, face Edinburgh in the final of the Premier Trophy, and are in the semi-finals of the Knockout Cup.

That represents a busy end of the season but Lyon believes his team can continue to compete.

"Potentially we could have another 21 meetings. With the way this team's going it's possible," he said.

"There's the Knockout Cup semi final, and a potential final there. There's the Premier League play-offs and the promotion-relegation play-offs.

"When you add them all up it comes to 21, quite a number compared to some tracks, but it's a long way to go yet."

The Stars maintained their four-point lead at the top of the Premier League with a 64-29 win against Glasgow on Wednesday.

Lyon said they must remain consistent to hold off the challenge of second-placed Birmingham.

"We want to make sure we win all our home meetings. Birmingham have got an important weekend coming up," he said.

"They're away to Edinburgh, Berwick and Glasgow. I think what they do this weekend will have a big bearing on how the league shapes up."
