Priaulx is third in the standings after Brands Hatch |
Guernsey's World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx is up to third in the standings after finishing third in Sunday's opening race at Brands Hatch. However, a puncture meant he had to pull out of the second race after 10 laps, dashing his hopes of making up further ground on his rivals. Yvan Muller's second place in race one was enough for him to take the overall championship lead on 65 points. He is a point ahead of Italy's Gabriele Tarquini, with Priaulx on 49 points. Sweden's Rykard Rydell is one point behind Priaulx and 16 behind leader Muller. Priaulx is the highest placed non-Seat Driver, and earlier this week criticised the competitiveness of the World Touring Car Championship, as Seat continues to dominate the field.
