Nine records fall at time trial

Aaron Bailey took six minutes off the record for the Vazon course

Nine riders broke records in Guernsey's 11-mile Vazon time trial.

Aaron Bailey took six minutes off the overall record, coming home in a time of 43:36, ahead of Tony Bleasdale and Grant Chalmers.

Anne Bowditch, who was the only woman in the field, broke the women's record in a time of 1.04:23.

Paul Jackson set a new mark in the men's over-40s, and Allan Renyard's time of 1.02:11 was the fastest in four age groups from over-50 to 65.

Chris le Page and Graham le Maistre set a new tandem record, while Tim Martin set the best ever time in the over-45s category.

Three junior records also fell in Sunday's time trial, to Callum Hill Smith in the under-18s, Alex Falla in the under-16s and Will Falla in the under-14s.
