James McLaughlin pushed himself to the limit to win the Guernsey Velo Club's 10 Mile Championship Time Trial in 21 minutes and 41 seconds at Cobo. On a sunny summer evening last Thursday with a slight breeze enabled good times for some of the 34 competitors. With the Inter-insular Road Race only days away some riders chose not to push themselves but McLaughlin did being physically sick on the finish line. Veteran Graham Le Maitre followed in fourth with Grant Chalmers an impressive fifth. Tim Holmes took sixth place followed by Under-16 Callum Hill-Smith, Tony Bleasdale, Matt Osborn, Chris Le Page, Veteran Jon Dorey and the first lady home Ann Bowditch. Gary Walbridge narrowly beat Allan Renyard by two seconds to finish as the first Grand Veteran in 16th place. The first Under-14 was Alex Falla in 26.06 in 28th place.
