Brehaut quickest on Perelle route

Paul Brehaut finished ahead of nearly 40 riders in the Guernsey Velo Club five-mile time trial on Thursday.

Brehaut's time of 10.53 around the Perelle circuit was five seconds ahead of his nearest challenger Aaron Bailey.

Mike Dean took third place followed by veteran Graham Le Maitre, Stuart Le Tissier, Junior Callum Hill-Smith, Tim Holmes and Dan Guillemette.

Ann Bowditch in ninth set a new women's record in 11.46, with Oliver Tracey completing the top 10.

Gary Walbridge was the first grand veteran in a time of 12.04 in 14th place, with Alex Falla the first under-14 competitor in 32nd.

Josh Gosselin was the first of three riders on mountain bikes competing the five miles in 12.46 in 27th place overall.
