Guernsey's James McLaughlin completed a remarkable double on Saturday winning the Inter-insular Time Trial in Jersey one week after winning the road race.

A time of 55 minutes 58 seconds was nearly two minutes, equivalent to one mile, ahead of Dan Arblaster in second.

McLaughlin was just 17 seconds outside the course record held by Commonwealth Games rider, Sam Firby.

The only Guernsey lady, Ann Bowditch, kept up her 100% senior record, taking the female event in 63:29.
