Priaulx recorded one of his best results of the season at Estoril |
Guernsey's reigning World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx has cut the gap at the top of the Championship standings to 15 points. Priaulx finished sixth and third in the two races at the Portuguese Estoril track on Sunday. Sweden's Rickard Rydell led race one from the start as Priaulx's sixth place finish allowed him to start third from the grid in race two. Priaulx held onto that third place to score nine points over the weekend. Championship leader Gabriele Tarquini failed to score in his Seat as he had to carry the maximum ballast of 70 kilos. Tarquini heads the competition with 58 points, one ahead of Frenchman Yvan Muller, Rydell is third on 48 points and Priaulx is in fourth on 43. Priaulx will be hoping to improve in his next race at Brands Hatch on Sunday 27 July.
