Andy Priaulx is a triple champion in touring cars |
The Channel Island Triple World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx has been made an MBE in the Queen's birthday honours. Alison Frankland, who has coached swimming in Guernsey to young islanders for the past 30 years, has been made an MBE for voluntary services to swimming. And Christine Anthony has also received a similar honour for her services to music in Guernsey. Meanwhile Jersey's Dr Michael Marks is given an MBE for services to the poor in the developing world. Guernseyman Andy Priaulx says he was really taken aback and "very honoured" to read they wanted to appoint him an MBE. He says he loves racing and is proud to carry the flags of both Guernsey and the UK on his car and overalls.
