Ex-GFA board members criticised

Football

Guernsey's Sunday Soccer League secretary Mark Fallaize has criticised ex-GFA board members for resigning soon after forming a new league structure.

In June the GFA approved plans to change Guernsey football to include under-16 and under-21 leagues and a "one player, one club" rule.

Fallaize told BBC Guernsey that their actions had caused some disbelief.

"It just makes us laugh... the people that implicated it and brought it into place have walked away," he said.

Fallaize said he hoped the new GFA chairman Mark Le Tissier would do a good job.

There may be some subtle changes next season, which may help

Mark Fallaize

"We feel that when Mark Le Tissier, once he gets his feet under the table, goes through everything and sees how the season goes there may be some subtle changes next season, which may help."

At Thursday's SSL AGM league delegates are expected to break away from GFA affiliation, rather than accept the radical league structure changes.
