The future is looking bright for tennis in Guernsey according to the Channel Islands development officer. Hugh Raymond says the level of local tennis has come a long way. "We really are catching up with the counties now. With Dominic and Heather everyone knows who we are now, which is great for tennis." The Jersey Junior Open recently attracted nearly 200 young hopefuls and eight of the 16 titles went to Channel Island players. "We get more youngsters wanting to play and providing we get the right coaches, we've got the facilities," Raymond added. "You don't have to be a large county to succeed and I think that's what's been shown over the last 12 months."
