Le Prevost's Guernsey side lost in the final over 12 months ago |
Guernsey captain Stuart le Prevost hopes his men will put in match-winning performances in Saturday's inter-insular against Jersey. Guernsey lost last year's match after winning the past five and face a side promoted to World League Division Four. "The game's going to hinge on two or three big performances, so hopefully we've geared ourselves up to put those performances in," he told BBC Guernsey. "You've got to go into these games with confidence," he added. Guernsey geared up for the game with a tour to Sussex which saw them lose a one-day international with Kenya as well as suffer two heavy defeats by local sides. | It's a big game, different things turn on the day. A brilliant bit of fielding, a great ball, someone making a lot of runs, a century or something like that Guernsey captain Stuart Le Prevost | Last year Guernsey needed six runs off the final over to win, but with only one wicket in hand they lost their final wicket with five balls to go to see them lose. But Le Prevost says that in a one-off game like the inter-insular, a one-off performance can make all the difference. "It's a big game, different things turn on the day. A brilliant bit of fielding, a great ball, someone making a lot of runs, a century or something like that," he said. The game is scheduled to start at Grainville in Jersey on Saturday, 9 August at 1100 BST.
