Garland faces temperatures of 30C in Macau |
Guernsey's 400m hurdler Dale Garland is managing to slowly acclimatise to temperatures of above 30C at the Team GB training camp in Macau. "We came out here last year for the world championships in Japan and so I've had to undergo this kind of thing before," he told the BBC. Garland is one of the six-man squad selected for the 4x400m relay which has its first heat on Friday 22 August. "The heat is alright but humidity not so much," he added. "Obviously with the humidity you lose so much water and it is hard to keep hydrated, but I don't mind the heat as it gets the muscles in good working condition."
