The Jeremie Cup is now the premier knockout in CI football
Jersey champions St Paul's have opted not to play in the Jeremie Cup as they cannot afford to travel to Guernsey.
The new-look premier Channel Islands competition has become an eight-team Champions League-style knockout.
But St Paul's President Charlie Browne told BBC Sport that, along with holders Jersey Scottish, they have opted out.
"It cost us 1,600 to fly to play in the Upton last year," he said. "It's just too expensive. We'd rather put the money back into junior development."

Semi-Finals - Saturday 20 September (1400 BST)

Rozel Rovers or Sylvans v St. Martin's or Jersey Wanderers
Cup holders Jersey Scottish have also declined the invitation to play in the tournament, meaning Trinity, who finished second in the Jersey Football Combination last season, are the best placed Jersey representatives.
With Jersey Scottish also having opted not to enter the draw, their places have been taken by the fifth and sixth placed sides in Jersey last season - Rozel Rovers and Jersey Wanderers.
The top four Guernsey sides are all taking part.
Champions Belgrave Wanderers are hosting a tough tussle with former Jersey champions St Peter at the Track, while Trinity have a tough task against the cup holders and third-placed Guernsey side Northerners.

Vale Rec v First Tower Utd
Semi-Finals - Saturday 20 September 1400 BST
St. Ouen or Rangers v Sporting Academics

Scottish and St Paul's decision to withdraw has also had an effect on the Collins Trophy, which is now being styled as the "UEFA Cup" of Channel Island football for the rest of the top flight sides not included in the Jeremie Cup.
Rozel Rovers' and Jersey Wanderers' places have been taken by Jersey's newly promoted Sporting Academics and First Tower United, who were relegated to the island's second division for the first time in their history at the end of last season.
Vale Rec look on paper to be the strongest side in the draw, having finished fifth in the Priaulx League last season. They will face First Tower at the Corbet Field while Grouville, who reached the Jeremie Cup final last season, host Guernsey's Rovers at Le Boulivot.
