Tigerwatch: round three
Woods, the defending champion, is in superb form
Woods began the day on five under par
Hole-by-hole coverage of reigning champion Tiger Woods' third round at the Masters.

  • Hole one
Tiger Woods tees off at 1850 BST, with healthy, but unspectacular rounds of 70 and 69 under his belt.

He is joined in an illustrious pairing by Spaniard Jose Maria Olazabal. Both men are two-times winners of the US Masters, but resume on five under par, four strokes behind halfway leader Vijay Singh.

Tiger starts with a par four, while Olazabal drops an early shot.
    Five under

  • Hole two
At the first par-five hole on the course, Tiger makes up ground on the leaders with a birdie four.
    Six under

  • Hole three
Worrying signs for the rest of the field as Woods makes a second straight birdie to pull within two shots of co-leaders Singh and Retief Goosen.
    Seven under

  • Hole four
Woods three putts at the par-three fourth and slips to four shots behind the pace that is now being set by South Africa's Goosen alone.
    Six under

  • Hole five
A par for Woods as he bids to chase Goosen.
    Six under

  • Hole six
Woods hits a disappointing tee-shot at the par-three sixth. His 30 foot downhill birdie attempt misses the hole by a couple of feet and he is left with an easy tap-in for par.
    Six under

  • Hole seven
A boost for Woods as he gets his third birde of the day to close the gap on Goosen.
    Seven under

  • Hole eight
Woods fails to take advantage at the par-five hole with another par.
    Seven under

  • Hole nine
A delightfully long drive and a superb approach shot give Woods a four foot putt for the chance of a birdie. He misses badly and he has to be content with a par.

  • Hole ten
Woods makes amends for the missed birdie putt at the previous hole and holes a more difficult putt for a birdie to start his back nine well.
    Eight under

  • Hole eleven
The birdie at the previous hole has given Woods a huge boost. A great approach shot allows him a six feet putt which he makes no mistake with to move to within one stroke of the leaders.
    Nine under

  • Hole twelve
Woods hits a superb tee shot to give him a chance of a third birdie in a row. He misses the putt but stays hot on the heels of the leaders.
    Nine under

  • Hole thirteen
Woods' second shot reaches the edge of the bunker but he plays a superb shot to recover and leave himself six feet from the hole.

He places the birdie putt to the right of the hole and has a par. But his playing partner Jose Maria Olazabal has an eagle
    Nine under

  • Hole fourteen
Woods makes an accuracy error and he eventually leaves himself with a tricky putt to save his par which he dispatches cooly.
    Nine under

  • Hole fifteen
Woods' second shot on the course's easiest hole misses the green. But he chips onto the green and makes an uphill birdie putt.
    Ten under

  • Hole sixteen
After a slightly misplaced approach shot, Woods is left with a lot to do to get a birdie. His effort comes up short and he taps in for par.
    Ten under

  • Hole seventeen
A long tee shot but the approach shot from Woods goes to the right and just off the green. His chip falls just short and he continues his steady progress with another par.
    Ten under

  • Hole eighteen
After a powerful tee shot, Woods' second shot hits the green and rolls to within about twelve feet of the pin.

He eyes up the birdie putt carefully and makes it to finish with a round of six under par 66 to let everyone know he has no intention of giving up his Masters crown.
    Eleven under
