Golfing prodigy Aimee Ponte won Guernsey's Women's Golf final on an extra hole at L'Ancresse on Saturday. The 13-year-old beat Kay Mapley on an extra hole after the game was all square after 36 and will now go on to face the Jersey champion. It was Ponte's first time in the competition and she said the result "hasn't sunk in yet". Ponte said her putting is not the best aspect of her game but in the final "had a few lucky long pots". In the semi-final Ponte defeated the reigning champion, Jan Chamberlain, paid tribute to the youngster : "She hits the ball beautifully and she's got a really good mental approach."
