Jersey's tennis team were the star performers on the opening day of the 14th Jeux des Iles in the Azores.

The boys team of Daniel Harrison, Max Vasilou and Stuart Parker all won their games against Korkula from Croatia.

Their 3-0 score was then repeated by the girls team of Audrey Bois, Nicol Moir and Eva Hurst against Corsica.

The table tennis team of Hugo Tupper and Jack Mills also enjoyed a strong opening day, beating both the Azores and Corsea before losing 3-0 to Cyprus.

Jersey's sailors were also in action on day one, but only managed to complete two out of their nine races.

Harry Moisan came fifth out of 15 sailors in his event, while Lilly Carter finished ninth out of 17 in the girls' fleet.
