Rathbones OV's went down to their first defeat of the season in Jersey's Evening League on Wednesday. The Division One leaders narrowly lost to Beeches by six runs, as they failed to chase down the required target of 164 in 12 overs. Second-placed Walkovers capitalised on Rathbones' failure to win by beating St Ouen to go level on points at the top. Walkovers scored 98-4 in 12 overs before restricting St Ouen to 96-9, claiming the win by just two runs. Wednesday's other Division One game between Ashburton and St Helier RFC was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch. In Division Three, State Street beat Sloggers by 19 runs having made 132-3 in 12 overs, with 51 from John Woolnough.
