Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson believes England Under-21s are on the cusp of a major achievement ahead of their play-off with Romania.
European Championship qualification rests on the two-legged tie, the first of which is at Norwich on Friday.
"It's big for us as players, we're just concentrating on getting a good result," Henderson told BBC Newcastle.
"We're not bothered about media attention. We just want to be in the Championships in the summer."
Henderson continued: "It's a different experience, it was really good the last time I went, the lads are great, there's a really good team spirit, a good squad and hopefully we can go far."
The second leg for a place at the 2011 finals in Denmark takes place in Botosani on Tuesday, 12 October.
Meanwhile the Sunderland player has enjoyed an impressive start to the season with the Black Cats, making eight appearances as a regular in Steve Bruce's plans.
However with no goals to his name so far, the 20-year-old admitted aspects of his game require sharpening.
"I need to work on my goals, I need to improve on finishing, I need to chip in with a lot more goals," Henderson added.
"I think it's a confidence thing, you need to believe you can score and I need to believe that if I get into the right positions I'm going to score.
"I'm a little bit disappointed with the start of the season that I haven't contributed, I'm concentrating too hard but hopefully that will come."
