Sunderland midfielders Jordan Henderson and David Meyler have signed new five-year contracts at the Stadium of Light.
Henderson, 19, and Meyler, 20, have established themselves in the Black Cats first-team and boss Steve Bruce has been impressed with their progress.
"I've been delighted with the way Jordan and David have applied themselves since I arrived at the club," Bruce said.
"Over the last nine months they've grasped the opportunity."
Henderson, a boyhood Sunderland fan, progressed through the club's academy to make his debut against Chelsea in November 2008, and having shown promise during a loan-spell with Coventry last season, has gone on to make 32 first-team appearances this season.
He signed a deal in October taking him through to 2013, but has now agreed new terms.
Republic of Ireland under-21 international Meyler was signed from Cork City by former Wearsiders boss Roy Keane in July 2008, and has since made seven first-team outings following his Premier League debut against Blackburn in December 2009.
