Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson has been rewarded with a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2013.
Henderson, 19, is a graduate of the club's academy and has been a regular in manager Steve Bruce's plans this season with nine appearances.
He made his full debut in last season's 5-0 defeat by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge under former boss Roy Keane.
The winger also enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Coventry City last season, making 11 appearances.
Henderson is also an England under-21 international, winning one cap.
