Henderson has impressed during his spell in the midlands

Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson has returned to the Stadium of Light from his loan spell at Coventry after picking up a foot injury.

Henderson, 18, was due to remain with the Sky Blues until the end of the season and had made 12 starts for manager Chris Coleman, scoring once.

The winger came through the Sunderland academy, and was a key player in the club's FA Youth Cup run last season.

While on loan at the Ricoh Arena he was also capped by England's under-19 side.
