January transfer deals please Shrewsbury Town boss
Defeat at Oxford convinced Turner he had to change his squad.
Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner has revealed the outlay for his transfer dealings in January was under £30,000.
Eight incoming and four outgoing deals were clinched, including three Premier League youngsters brought in on loan.
"I'm pleased with the business we did," he told BBC Radio Shropshire. "It's pepped us up, we've won four in a row.
"Less than £30,000, that includes Mark Wright, Jermaine Grandison and Nicky Wroe, and we got money in when Hakan Duyan went to Turkey (Gaziantepspor)."
Turner said he knew he had to act in the transfer market after Shrewsbury lost twice inside a week, at Oxford and Bury, and they have now since gone on a three-game winning run.
"I remember in my first spell here when we went up to what's now the Championship. We lost 5-0 or 5-1 at Blackpool, and I said that was the result that would win us promotion," he said.
"Sometimes you can feel you were a bit unlucky to lose 1-0, but a result like that really focuses your mind on what went wrong and what needs to be done.
"That's how I felt after Oxford [where Shrewsbury lost 3-1]."
