Ross Davidson made his debut for Port Vale at Swindon in April 2008
Port Vale midfielder Ross Davidson has become the latest player to sign a new one-year contract at Vale Park.
The 19-year-old has followed in the footsteps of fellow youngsters Luke Prosser and Danny Edwards by extending their stay with the League Two club.
He told the club website: "This season will be make or break for me. It will be good for us to have fresh ideas from a new gaffer."
Davidson has made 15 league starts for Vale since his debut in April 2008.
He added: "I have been thinking hard about other options for me, maybe even going out of the game.
"But I have decided to give it another go and hopefully prove that I am good enough to play in the Football League.
"I am looking forward to seeing all the lads again when we come back in for pre-season training on Wednesday, but I know there is a lot of hard work to do during the summer."
New manager Micky Adams has made three new signings in the close season, Tommy Fraser, Adam Yates and Doug Loft all having arrived at Vale Park in June.
