Port Vale have completed the signing of 21-year-old former Brighton midfielder Doug Loft on a two-year deal.
Loft will link up again with his former Seagulls boss Micky Adams.
"Micky phoned me as soon as he got the [Vale] job," Loft told the club website. "I came up and had a look and I am pleased to sign.
"I am an attacking midfielder and hopefully I can score a few goals. I played in this division with Dagenham last season so I know what it's about."
Loft becomes Vale's second ex-Brighton signing of the close season, following the arrival of fellow midfielder Tommy Fraser.
He added: "I have played with Tommy for the last couple of years and enjoyed playing alongside him."
Loft made 16 starts and 33 substitute appearances for the Seagulls. He also played 10 games for Dagenham & Redbridge last season during a two-month loan spell.
