Port Vale youngster Danny Edwards has signed a one-year deal - his first professional contract.

"I am pleased to be making the step up from the youth team," Edwards told Vale's website.

"I am still young and am learning the game, so training every day with older, more mature and experienced players will help me to improve.

"I realise I will need to work hard at my game and hope to break into the first team at some stage."
