Brighton midfielder Doug Loft has signed a new one-year contract.

Loft, 21, has played just 33 games for Albion since he joined from Ryman League side Hastings in January 2006.

But he hopes to be a first-team regular under new boss Micky Adams and told Albion's website: "The manager has told me I have a fresh start.

"The aim is to come back fit and raring to go and break into the team during pre-season, score some goals and establish myself in the team."
