James Wesolowski and Grant McCann in injury setbacks
Wesolowski suffered injury set backs while at Leicester City
Peterborough United midfield pair James Wesolowski and Grant McCann are set for a spell on the sidelines.
Wesolowski, 23, tore a medial ligament during Saturday's 2-2 draw at Exeter and is expected to be out for "a few weeks" according to boss Gary Johnson.
McCann, 30, is likely to miss the next two games after damaging his foot in the same fixture.
"It's disappointing because they've both done great," Johnson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
"They've been the engine room for the last few games."
The Posh coaching team will wait 10 days before making a further assessment on McCann's foot, although the Northern Irishman is keen to get back in action earlier.
"We'll have to have a look at it and see if he needs an injection just to help him through," Johnson said.
"It's not as bad in terms of anything long term.
"If you talk to Grant he says he'll be fit for Saturday, so we're just erring on the side of caution."
McCann and Australian Wesolowski had formed a solid partnership at the heart of the Peterborough midfield this season and Johnson will look to bring in cover.
"It gives other people in the squad a chance, we're obviously having a look to see if we need to improve the squad from the outside," he added.
"I suspect by next week we'll be getting in one or two players on a loan basis."
