Grant McCann disappointed by Peterborough United haul
McCann turned down a new deal at Scunthorpe to join Posh in May
Peterborough United midfielder Grant McCann feels he could have made a better contribution to his side's goal tally this season.
The 30-year-old Northern Irishman scored on his Posh debut but has failed to find the net in five games since.
He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I think there's still more to come, I haven't scored as many goals as I would want to.
"That's a big part of my game so hopefully a few more goals can come."
The former Scunthorpe man has started all but one of Peterborough's games this season, having to come off the bench for the defeat by Tranmere on Saturday after playing for Northern Ireland the night before.
He gets about and in to tackles which gives me a chance to get on to the ball and make things happen for the team
Peterborough midfielder Grant McCann on James Wesolowski
Each time he has played it has been alongside fellow new-boy James Wesolowski in central midfield.
"Wes is a really good player, I think we compliment each other really well," he said.
"He gets about and into tackles which gives me a chance to get onto the ball and make things happen for the team.
"Hopefully we can continue the partnership."
Posh will look to get back to winning ways when they host Oldham on Saturday.
