Peterborough United have signed midfielder James Wesolowski from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old Australian, who spent this season on loan with Scottish Premier League side Hamilton, has signed a two-year deal at London Road.

He told the club website: "I had a pretty good season with Hamilton.

"Now I have been given the opportunity to come to Peterborough and I am looking forward to helping the club achieve promotion."

Wesolowski added: "It was a great experience last season, it gave me plenty of confidence and playing against Celtic and Rangers has helped me a lot.

"Now my new goal is to help Peterborough achieve promotion and I believe we can do that. The manager was a big part of my decision to come here, he has great experience and I can't wait to play for him."

Wesolowski made over 50 appearances for Leicester, and also had loan spells at Cheltenham and Dundee United.

Meanwhile, Milton Keynes boss Karl Robinson has confirmed they beat Posh to the signature of striker Lewis Guy.

The 24-year-old has signed a two-year deal at the Stadium:MK after leaving Doncaster Rovers.
