Peterborough United captain Grant McCann has said he believes his central midfield partnership with James Wesolowski will continue improving.
Both players are new to London Road having arrived over the summer.
McCann told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "James is good to play with and what you see is what you get. He gives everything and doesn't stop running.
"We're combining well and I'm looking forward to playing alongside him throughout this season."
McCann and Wesolowski linked well as Posh worked hard to grind down a stubborn Bristol Rovers side on Saturday.
They look set to be Gary Johnson's preferred central midfield partnership this season with McCann adding the flair and Wesolowski the grit.

George Boyd opening the scoring, before Aaron Mclean added a second. McCann rounded off the win with a well taken free-kick.
"My delivery wasn't the best against Bristol Rovers, but I got my free-kick and I think it's the only place I could have put it," he said.
Posh managed just six home wins last season and McCann has said he is pleased to have given the London Road faithful something to cheer.
"The atmosphere was brilliant. When you're yet to score you need the fans behind you," he said.
"Teams will come and set their stall out and try to defend, but second half we managed to up it a little bit."
Posh host Rotherham in the League Cup on Tuesday night, although McCann will miss the match as he is on international duty with Northern Ireland.
George Boyd will be available and is already eyeing a winning run.
"We need to get the winning mentality back after what happened last season, so another win would be good," he said.
"We've proved we can break teams down, we just need to stay patient and we'll get the results."
