Crewe boss Thordarson has signed two players from non-league Histon
Crewe Alexandra manager Gudjon Thordarson has said he will take his time in bringing in new recruits.
The Alex have so far made two summer signings so far, Histon pair Patrick Ada and Mat Mitchel-King have both joined the League Two side.
Thordarson told BBC Radio Stoke: "The tricky part is to get the quality with the money I have to spend, but I will keep trying to improve my squad."
Crewe allowed 11 players to leave at the end of last season.
Thordarson still hopes to add two experienced players to his squad before they kick off on 8 August at home to Dagenham and Redbridge.
The Icelander added: "I have been busy over the summer trying to find the quality we need to improve us.
"Some of those players have gone beyond us because of their personal terms and all you can do in that situation is walk away.
"I would like to bring in some more because I would like to strengthen. We have to sign players on a Bosman free transfer but there are other options available to me."
Crewe may also have to consider offers for two of their players shortly as Derby County are tracking full-back John Brayford, and Scunthorpe United are sounding out the availability of Northern Ireland international midfielder Michael O'Connor.
