Crewe Alexandra boss Gudjon Thordarson has made Histon defender Patrick Ada his first permanent signing.
The 24-year-old has signed a two-year deal after missing out on promotion from the Blue Square Premier League.
Crewe manager Gudjon Thordarson told BBC Radio Stoke:"I am pleased we've signed him. He's quick and powerful and a good defender, a real asset."
The Cameroon-born centre-half made 85 appearances for Histon after signing from Exeter City in 2007.
Ada was first brought into English football by then Conference side Barnet in March 2005, making two substitute appearances.

He then signed for Stevenage, only for Exeter to sign him before he had kicked a ball for the Hertfordshire club.
He made seven appearances for the Grecians, including a three-month loan spell at St Albans, before moving on to Histon in May 2007.
