Cambridge United have secured the services of left-back Anthony Tonkin following his release from Blue Square Premier rivals Forest Green Rovers.
The 28-year-old, formerly of Yeovil, Stockport and Crewe, has signed a two-year deal at the Abbey.
Tonkin becomes Gary Brabin's first signing as U's boss.
"We've had a lot of competition for his signature and I'm delighted to be able to bring him here," Brabin told the U's official website.
Tonkin made 38 appearances for Forest Green last season following a move from League One side Yeovil.
He joins the returning Lee McEvilly and Paul Carden as the U's third summer recruit.
