Cambridge have made scrum-half Danny Hunter their latest signing ahead of the new National Two season.
Hunter, 23, who played in the Spanish Premiership with El Salvador last season, becomes the 12th summer arrival at West's Renault Park.
Player-coach James Shanahan was impressed with Hunter's enthusiasm.
He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "He came last week, proved himself, worked really hard, got better and better with every session."
Shanahan said Hunter arrives with a wealth of top-level experience.
He said: "Last season he was playing in the Spanish Premiership for the top side in Spain and played in the Challenge Cup against the likes of Newcastle and Brive.
"Previously he was at Moseley playing in National One."
With so many new players arriving at Cambridge, Hunter will have to prove he is the best choice at scrum-half to see any first-team action.
I think it's more or less done and dusted but there may be a few loan players who come in
Cambridge player-coach James Shanahan
"There's every chance that he could have a starting spot come 6 September, but Stefan [Liebenberg] was a stand-out player last year and I know this will make him work harder than he did last year.
"It'll be an interesting battle between those two [for the scrum-half position]."
Shanahan does not expect many more new faces at Cambridge before the start of the season.
He said: "I think it's more or less done and dusted, but there may be a few loan players who come in to it to strengthen other areas."
