Shanahan hopes to bring National One rugby to Wests Renault Park |
Cambridge have signed former Harlequins flanker Karl Rudzki as they prepare for another season in National Two. As well as Premiership experience, Rudzki, 27, has played for French Top-14 side Bayonne and played for Northampton last season. Cambridge Coach James Shanahan told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "It's a big signing for us and shows our ambition. "[He'll bring] experience, he's a natural leader, which we've missed, and he's got a very physical game." Rudzki will join other new recruits Dan Legge, Michael Guess, Dave Archer and Lawrence White at Wests Renault Park. Shanahan said: "We probably won't be signing too many ex-Premiership players but we are looking at boys who are good enough to play in National One. "To get in to National One you need to have players in National Two who are good enough to step up."
