Potter scored the second goal in Peterborough's 4-1 win
Peterborough midfielder Alfie Potter has said he believes he can become part of manager Darren Ferguson's first team plans this season.
Potter was on the scoresheet as Posh recorded a 4-1 victory over a Liverpool XI at the weekend.
He spent most of last season on loan at Grays and Havant & Waterlooville.
The 19-year-old told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I've got to look to play this year, my main priority is to get myself a new contract."
Potter rose to prominence last season after scoring against Liverpool at Anfield in the fourth round of the FA Cup whilst at Havant and Waterlooville.
The Peterborough academy product, who also spent time with AFC Wimbledon, has admitted he faces competition for his preferred spot on the right wing.
I'm going to work hard in training every day, get bigger and get stronger

"We've just signed Sergio Torres, he's a very good player and Chris Whelpdale did excellently [last season].
"But it looks like he might be playing right-back this year so hopefully I can push Sergio all the way."
Potter has two years remaining on his contract at London Road but is keen to win a longer deal by establishing himself in the Posh side.
"I'm going to work hard in training every day, get bigger and get stronger," he said.
Meanwhile, manager Darren Ferguson said he was pleased with the performance of trialist Paul Coutts in Saturday's match.
He told the club's website: "He kept the ball well, passed it well and we will take another look at him on Tuesday night when we travel to Stevenage Borough."
