Tonkin has chosen Forest Green ahead of Lincoln City |
Forest Green Rovers have signed former Yeovil defender Anthony Tonkin. The 27-year-old Cornishman ended his second spell with the Glovers this summer - and was offered a two-year deal by League Two side Lincoln.
However, he opted to stay closer to his south-west roots, and manager Jim Harvey told Rovers' website: "Anthony is a vital piece of our jigsaw.
"His addition fills the void caused by Kevin Nicholson moving on, and his experience will be a great asset."
Tonkin has also played for Stockport and Crewe, and has Conference experience from a loan spell at Grays last season.
Meanwhile, striker Daniel Webb, 24, who also left Yeovil this summer after an 18-month spell, has joined Ryman Premier Division side AFC Wimbledon.
